Bonny Lundy
Watercolor en Plein Air
 Bonny
Lundy is a Maryland artist and art teacher. Her
award winning paintings are included in private
and public collections including the U.S. Council
on Aging, GEICO, Sandy Spring Museum, and Montgomery
County. Bonny exhibits her paintings at Atlantic
Gallery of Georgetown. Her unique style celebrates
realistic beauty. Bonny's art is inspired by the
extensive gardens and woodland areas around her
studio and by her collection of antiques and plants.
She enjoys travel painting when visiting the Shenandoah
Mountains, Vermont, the Eastern Shore. Painting
en plein air' provides a sensory experience that
is reflected in Bonny's paintings. This freshness
carries over to her studio work where she creates
still-life with natural and found objects in response
to meaningful personal events.
My goal is to present an experience of heightened
reality for the viewer.
Bonny Lundy has taught outdoor
watercolor painting, drawing and design for twenty
years through Glen Echo Park, Yellow Barn School,
Smithsonian Associates, Washington Women's Democratic
Club, and numerous groups. She has led painting
workshops to Honduras, Costa Rica, and U.S. locations.
Ms. Lundy studied art at Goddard College and at
Lake Erie College with Clinton Kuopus, where she
received her BFA in painting in 1980. She studied
realistic oil painting with William Swetcharnik.
Bonny also works with oil and batik. Bonny Lundy
paints by commission from her studio, Pleasant
View, in Brookeville, Maryland.
