Jean Brinton Jaecks
Painting: Plein Air Painting on the Amalfi Coast in Watercolors and Oil

Jean Brinton Jaecks is a plein air landscape painter. Jean received her MFA from George Washington University and a BFA from Maryland Institute College of Art, in Baltimore, Maryland. She has also studied color at the Cape Cod School of Art, in Provincetown, Massachusetts with Henry Hensche. Jean was a 2008, recipient of the Rochefort-en-Terre Artist Residency in Brittany, France.

Ms. Brinton Jaecks currently teaches painting for St. John’s College, in Annapolis, Maryland as well as the Corcoran College of Art and Design and the US Botanic Garden. She has also taught painting for the Smithsonian American Art Museum. Jean teaches en plein air landscape painting, watercolor, oil and medieval illumination and egg tempera.

Jean maintains studios in Millersville, Maryland and Rockport, Massachusetts. Her subject matter ranges from the villages of Italy and France to the rugged coast of New England and Maryland’s Chesapeake Bay. Her work is exhibited nationally and internationally including Vietri sul Mare, Italy, Rochefort-en-Terre Museum, France, the Corcoran Museum of Art, the National Arts Club, NYC , the National Adirondack Exhibit of American Watercolors, the McKissick Museum, Columbia, South Carolina and the Heritage Museum, Taladega, Alabama.
