| Stephen Sulich
Conductor
Stephen Sulich has performed as a piano soloist and in collaboration with singers and instrumentalists in concerts all over the United States and returns to Amalfi for his third summer with the festival. He has conducted opera for more than twenty opera companies in the United States, including the Lyric Opera of Chicago, New York City Opera, Houston Grand Opera, and Anchorage Opera. During the past three years, he has been busy as a guest faculty member at Concordia College (Minnesota), Hunter College in New York City, and The Eastman School of Music in New York where he conducted performances of The Secret Garden this past fall. Stephen served as Music Director and Principal Conductor of Anchorage Opera for six years and has remained a regular guest there conducting over 20 operas for the company. Recordings include a collaboration with soprano Lucy Thrasher: Cabaret; Songs from Schoenberg to Sondheim on the Concordia label, and several piano solos for the soundtrack of STILL(e), a film by Susan Schwarzwald/First Gaze Films.
