Roger Riggle
Stage Director, Choreographer

Roger Bennet Riggle returns to the Amalfi Coast Music Festival this year as chief Stage Director and Choreographer for the Vocal Program. Last year he directed the extensive opera scenes program and in 2004 was the director for The Marriage of Figaro. His professional experience embraces careers as a stage director, choreographer, producer and artistic director.

Mr. Riggle has served as long-time Associate Producer for TheatreFest, an equity theater company based at Montclair State University and reaching the greater New York metropolitan area, where he directed and/or choreographed productions including West Side Story, Man of La Mancha, A Chorus Line, Ain’t Misbehavin’ (starring Ruth Brown), La Cage Aux Folles, and Triplets, The Diva Musical (a world premiere starring Ruth Brown and Carol Woods). Mr. Riggle has also directed shows for a variety of small professional theatres, including Pirates of Penzance (The Maryland Theatre, Hagerstown, MD); The Fantasticks, Dames at Sea, and Something’s Afoot (Wye Mills Dinner Theatre, Wye Mills, MD); Kismet (Lazy Susan Dinner Theatre, Woodbridge, VA), and Time Steps, an original musical (ASTA Theatre, Washington, DC).

Mr. Riggle has also directed and/or choreographed a wide array of performances with university students at institutions such as Montclair State University, Catholic University, Montgomery College, George Washington University, and Wabash University. His credits include The Marriage of Figaro, Gypsy, and A Chorus Line (Montclair State University); Carousel, The King and I, The Old Maid and the Thief, High Button Shoes, Ring around the Moon, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum (Catholic University); Oklahoma, Music Man, Pippin, Boys from Syracuse, West Side Story, Me and My Girl, Kiss Me Kate, Anything Goes, Guys and Dolls, Mame, The Unsinkable Molly Brown, Oliver!, Gypsy, My Fair Lady, Hello Dolly, 42nd Street, South Pacific, Bye, Bye Birdie, Sweet Charity, The Pajama Game, Die Fledermaus, The Merry Widow, The Merry Wives of Windsor, The Vagabond King, and The Pearl Fishers (Montgomery College).

Mr Riggle is also an expert in the area of make-up for the stage, television and film. He is founder and president of Faces by R & R, a business specializing in make-up artistry, make-up products, and aesthetician consultations.
