Faculty Biographies - Louis Nabors  

Louis Nabors
Voice

Louis Nabors, Basso, is Chairman of the Vocal Department at the University of Louisiana at Monroe's School of Visual and Performing Arts, where he has been a Professor of Voice since

1973. He received his B.M.at Southern University and his M.M. at Prairie View A & M University.  

Mr. Nabors has performed with the Arizona Opera Company, the Houston Grand Opera, and various Los Angeles Opera companies. He is currently on the roster of the Shreveport Opera Company.  Mr. Nabors has performed such works as Don Giovanni, La Boheme, Porgy and Bess, and Aida.   He has performed as soloist and recitalist throughout the country and in Europe and is a board member and performer with the Houston Ebony Opera Guild. 

A frequent adjudicator at state and regional NATS competitions, Mr. Nabors teaches voice and trains the Interdenominational Ensemble, the university's gospel and spiritual group.
