Dr. Verena Drake
Art History

Dr Verena Drake has joined the Hotchkiss faculty five years ago as an Art History and History instructor after spending more than a decade of university teaching. A native of Germany, Dr Drake received her higher education in the United States where she received her Ph.D. at the University of California in the History of American Foreign Relations. Always interested in the history of painting and traveling to museums and art sites - she finally had the opportunity to pursue professionally what she always loved as a hobby. At Hotchkiss she teaches the AP Art History curriculum as well as classes in European history and senior seminars and independent studies in art history.
